The Botanic Gardens are located in the centre of Oxford, just off the High Street near Magdalen College. The gardens grow plants not only for aesthetic reasons but also to support the research and teaching within Oxford University. The gardens have over 7,000 different types of plants resulting in greater biodiversity than in tropical rain forests.
